Abstract

The subject of this the article are deliberations considerations concerned with a search foraimed at finding similarities between theoretical inspirations and particular theories in Anglo-Saxon and continental (European) archaeology from the 1960s to the present, despite existing differences in this respect. An important element of the discussion is an attempt to answer the question of where archaeology is heading to; whether it is still a the humanistic human science or, in some areas, it tends to applied sciences, and how it affects theory of archeology.
