Widmowe wędrowanie. Refleksje na przykładzie prac Paula Klee i Wacława Szpakowskiego
Abstract
The starting point of the article are Jacques Derrida’s reflections found in the last part of Truth in Painting, in which the philosopher examines the issue of spectrology in relation to visual arts. Later in the text, the author goes on to discuss the work of Paul Klee and Wacław Szpakowski. The wandering, presumed in the commentary to the theoretical works of art both artists, has a spectral character. It is not associated with the human figure depicted in a drawing or painting, but consists in treating the observed shapes as signs of the movement of points. The result is a narrative, although it is unknown to whom it relates or refers. The viewer is unable to appropriate it or attribute it to anyone – just like, as Derrida puts it, he cannot determine the assignment of boots painted by Van Gogh.
