Naruszanie godności człowieka w kontekście badań nad ludzkim genomem

Abstract

A question of ethical nature appears: does the research on the human genome violate the human dignity really? As result of realization of the research on the human genome some undertakings aimed at the protection of human dignity appeared. Whose dignity would have been threatened? Three categories of people were mentioned: the frst, people whose genome is subjected to the research, the second, of the scientists who perform sequencing the human genome and the third, including whole mankind along with the future generations. The answer is: the sequencing of the human genome does not infringe human dignity, because the research on the human genes allows discovering the knowledge that cannot violate human dignity. Should the new knowledge be misused, the dignity will be violated.
