Abstract

The concept of people in contemporary thought

The aim of this paper it to present various perspectives in contemporary political thought. It will be argued that majority of contemporary thinkers make reference to the same basic concepts. It will be showed that the notion of people is the foundation of many contemporary philosophical projects. We will distinguish two main trends within these philosophical projects. The first one utilizes the notion of people as the key concept in the interpretation of history. The other treats the notion people and its internal dialectics as the fundamental dimension of politics.
